Peak Care 9 inch Alternating Air Matress

An electrically operated alternating air mattress replacement system designed for very high risk users. The mattress includes integrated side buffers, heel zone, 1 in 3 alternation and a pump side handle pull system for the CPR and transport functions. A digital air pump control unit automatically adjusts for patient movement and has a full suite of alarm and diagnostic features. The load capacity is 180kg.

STRUCTURE
Cell configuration: 19 x 26cm cell in cells alternating 1 in 3 including 3 static head cells, heel zone, integrated side buffers and a unique profiling base section that conforms to upper body raises. Mattress base contains 75mm static air filled cells.

ATTACHMENT
The mattress replacement system has three straps stitched into the base which have adjustable clip ends to loop underneath the bed and fasten to themselves.

PUMP/CONTROLS
Control unit: Quiet premium digital pump featuring auto adjustment, adjustable alternation and static modes with high capacity compressor.
Also includes a full suite of audio and visual alarm modes with mute function. Indicators: Comfort, function mode, mute and power. Has two hooks for attachment to the bed.

COVER
Top cover: PU multi-stretch water proof, vapour permeable (breathable) top cover with infection control side flaps, tape over top seams and quick release zipper

SAFETY FEATURES
CPR access: Rapid release CPR handle at the control unit. Comes with a transport cap that seals air in while bed and mattress are transported without power to mattress.

Softform Premier Mattress

The Softform Premier is widely recognised among healthcare professionals as a leading pressure reducing static mattress. The introduction of the Active system takes this a stage further, offering the option of an alternating surface on which to nurse patients.

The unique design of the Softform Premier Active features an alternating air insert beneath the castellated foam insert of the Softform Premier mattress. The mattress retains its properties as a high risk static mattress, but should clinical judgement determine that the patient requires stepping up to a dynamic surface, then a discreet pump can be fitted to the air insert, transforming the mattress into an alternating surface delivering additional levels of pressure relief. There is no requirement to move the patient, thereby minimising any discomfort.

The pump will assess individual patients’ weights, and adjust levels of inflation accordingly. The air cells alternate on a ten minute cycle beneath the foam insert, delivering a very low impact at the point of change, thereby delivering high levels of comfort in addition to improved pressure reduction.
